What Makes us Different?
This requires high-quality, highly customized care. It requires a healthcare provider that truly wants to empower you to be in the driver’s seat and take charge. It requires knowledge and tools that will keep you progressing, training, and performing better - long after treatment is over.
We pride ourselves on being movement specialists who merge physical therapy with strength & conditioning, athletic performance, and holistic health principles to treat the whole person and achieve real, lasting results.
We pursue more, so YOU can too.

Dr. Chris Ricardo is the founder of Athletic Pursuit Physical Therapy.
As a former athlete who understands firsthand what it’s like to struggle with tough injuries, Chris is deeply passionate about keeping individuals active and achieving their desired goals. He believes in treating the whole person, and the main goal for all of his clients is for them to move and feel better while keeping their bodies functioning at the highest levels.
Chris has spent his career working in orthopedics addressing persistent pain, leading post-surgical rehabilitation, and enhancing overall performance. He has extensive experience working with all levels of athletes ranging from high school to college and professional levels. He also works with CrossFit athletes and other active individuals who consider their health a priority.
Outside of the clinic, Chris enjoys an active lifestyle, running, traveling, cooking/eating, and spending time with his wife, son, and dog Cooper.
Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Chris earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology(Exercise Science) from the University of Maryland, and went on to complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from The George Washington University.
Chris is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also certified in Dry Needling (CMTPT) and Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR) to further allow him to better serve his patients.
Chris’s treatment style includes hands-on manual therapy for pain relief followed by movement reeducation, structured exercise progressions, strength training, and sport-specific rehabilitation. He also implements injury prevention skills and initiates movement early and often to achieve optimal results. He aims to bridge the gaps between physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and athletic performance.
The initial evaluation is about 1-hour in length and will include a discussion regarding your injury, current physical condition, and future goals. From there, your physical therapist will perform a thorough physical examination, movement assessment, and a combination of hands-on treatment, exercise, and education for you to gain a better understanding of your body moving forward.
We will identify what exactly is going on regarding the problem you're experiencing, uncover the root cause, and teach you the process needed to overcome it (and keep it away for good!)
